Atrium Medical Corporation recently settled a lawsuit for $11.5 million after an employee tried to expose an improper physician kick-back scheme that the company was involved in. Atrium Medical Corporation is based in Hudson, New Hampshire and manufactures medical devices. The lawyers at the Hollis Law Firm are currently in litigation with Atrium Medical Corporation regarding their defective C-Qur hernia mesh. The alleged kick-back scheme that Atrium Medical Corporation was involved in was regarding medical stents that it produces. Unfortunately, the lawsuit did not progress enough to expose the kick-back schemes that Atrium might be involved in with other products, such as the C-Qur hernia mesh.

In a 5 year period, Atrium sold over $350 million of a medical stent called the iCast. The iCast was only approved for the limited use of treating tracheobronchial obstructions. It is estimated that nearly all of the iCast sold were for unapproved uses. Atrium Medical Corporations deplorable business practices are finally beginning to come to light. When Atrium Medical Corporation settled for $11.5 million, a large percent of that money went to pay back Medicaid and other agencies that improperly paid for the Atrium’s iCast. Another large percent of the settlement went to the former Atrium employee gone whistler blower. Employees that expose the misconduct of the evil corporations they work for can be entitled to a percentage of the money recovered, which can be millions of dollars.

If you have worked or currently work for Atrium Medical Corporation, contact an attorney before an attorney contacts you. Contact us now before its too late and your on the wrong side of the litigation. The intentional misconduct of Atrium Medical Corporation, and subsidiary of Maquet and the Getinge Group, will soon been exposed nationwide.
