Contact Hollis Law Firm for a free legal consultation. Hollis Law has experience in helping victims of bad drugs and faulty medical devices such as Atrium C-Qur™ mesh lawsuits.
Nine years ago, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Atrium C-Qur™ mesh for the public market. After over 500 thousand dollars were spent on an approval program, the Atrium C-Qur mesh was released without meticulous pre-market research and testing. Atrium C-Qur mesh is commonly used to repair hernias, traumatic surgical wounds, and surgical chest wall reconstruction. Atrium C-Qur mesh lawsuits are being filed as a result of Atrium Medical failing to address the FDA’s notice about infections. During the fall of 2012, the FDA initially notified Atrium Medical that they were failing to address an array of cases reporting Atrium C-Qur mesh causing infections. Official sterility complaints were filed and Atrium Medical failed to answer these accusations.
Due to Atrium Medical’s silence on the infection-causing mesh, the FDA announced a class 2 recall on August 9, 2013. The FDA found that Atrium C-Qur mesh adhered to the inner packaging liner after the mesh was exposed to increased amounts of humidity. Earlier this year, the FDA announced a complete and permanent recall of Atrium C-Qur mesh. As a result of the permanent injunction, Atrium C-Qur mesh lawsuits started surfacing due to the serious side effects the mesh carried. Some of these side effects include:
- Bowel perforation
- Bowel obstruction
- Pseudotumor
- Neuromuscular problems
- Sepsis and septic complications
- Rash
- Headaches
- Infection
- Abdominal pain
- Loss of coordination
- Vision changes
- Renal failure
- Liver complications
If you or a loved one is suffering from any of the above side effects of Atrium C-Qur mesh, you may be entitled to compensation for your suffering, distress, or financial losses.
